This handmade paper journal is made primarily by women, according to traditional methods, from the sustainable pruning & trimming of the Lokta Bush. Lokta is only found above 6500 ft in the Himalayan Mountains. Gathering the trimmings of raw Lokta is a cottage industry which provides employment and helps to improve the standard of living in the rural areas of Nepal.
The paper is of fine texture, strong and very versatile. It will last for centuries....
